CDT Audio Braxials in FD

Hey guys

Do you guys think that this speaker would fit in the stock location of a non-bose FD?

http://www.cdtaudio.com/braxialadvantages.htm

Its an amazing component set and Im wondering if it will fit like the OEM speakers.

Thanks

Easiest way would be to find out the mounting depth, pull off the door panel and measure....

Nope. Speaker mounting depth for non-BOSE FDs is a little over 2".

CDT Audio makes awesome speaker sets. I have their HD-62 separates in my Miata, and love them. It's a pity none of their speakers (nor a lot of other high end speakers) will fit up front in an FD.

so to make these fit, you would have to make some sort of panel for these as well?

You'd have to fabricate a whole new door panel that puts the speaker mounting points another 2" or so past where it is on the stock panel so that the woofer will clear the window. Or, you can fabricate some kick pods out of fiberglass or wood (if you're handy with carving wood) and mount them as unobtrusively as you can in the footwell somewhere. It's not impossible, but it will be very time-consuming, require some creativity, and be a pain in the ***. That said, why don't you just get some shallow mount speakers and be done with it?

what component speakers would you reccommend that fit easily in a non-bose FD?

if possible, please reccommend ones from focal, MBQ, dynaudio or diamond audio

I posted good prices on MB Quarts the other day actually. I don't remember the model number but it's one of sound domains hot deals right now.
