the power is the black cable with the male plug right? and when i plug it into the back of my cd player and turn thr car to acc it should come on right? btw its a first gen

Use a test light or multimeter to check for voltage. There will be one wire(battery) that will have power when the car is off, and one wire (ignition/ ACC) that will have power when you turn the key to ACC.

This is just generic audo, I do not know the specifics for the 1st gens.

see i tried this...but i have 2 of each. and when i figured everyting out and connected it all. i got nothing

 

is your ground ok? check that one as well. explain "i have 2 of each" and maybe someone can help you.
