CD player install...supporting it?

I have a 91 TII and I got a Kenwood CD player I want to put in...

I have those metal gauge panels from...I can't remember who was selling them....

But what do I need to have inside the hole to support the CD player so it won't flop around?

Like some sort of bracket?

James

^yep the cd player should have come with a "cage"...it's a metal sleeve that goes around the cd player. It has several tabs on it. If you don't see it in the box it may still be around the cd player. Take that sleeve...slide it into the hole that your panel has....bend a few of the tabs over to lock the sleeve into the panel. After you have the deck wifed up...slide the deck into the sleeve and it should lock in.

Hum, yeah when I pulled the cd player out of my 86 7 I didn't take that cage...

generally no you can't. If you have any local audio shops that sell your brand of head unit...stop by and ask them if they have one laying around...alot of cars don't use the cages, so they end up either throwing them away or in alot of cases saving a few "just in case". Just bring in the head unit you have and ask them if they have a cage that fits it.
