CD Player Help
Okay,
I have an '84 GSL-SE, which has the 3 piece tuner/tape/eq system.
I like my stock system, but I want to replace the tape deck with a CD player. This means I need a stand-alone CD player with no tuner, that won't clash horribly with the stock silver-coloured system.
I've been researching for a while now, and the closes thing I've been able to find is this unit from alpice, but it's pricey, flashy, and way more than I need.
Can anyone help me?
Thanx,
-Spencer

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
The CDA-5755, must be used with an Alpine Ai-Net compatible headunit. It won't work with a stock Mazda deck.
Replace everything with an Alpine AM/FM high power CD player. The stock deck was garbage compaired with the available aftermarket units when the car was new, well alone what is out there today.
The only way you are going to be able to keep the stock deck and add a CD is to add a RF CD changer, which will never sound better than your radio does now.

Good to know. I actually found somthing that may suit my needs.
The Sony CDX-1000RF. The colour wont' quite match, but besides that it's good.
As for the stock tuner, I've never had a complaint about it's sound quality.
Replacing the whole thing is an option, but a it's expensive one, especially since I'd be replacing the stock EQ at the same time.

I'm also not worried about wiring it up without an RF adapter. I have a lot of experiece with electronics and general, and audio systems in particular.
Thanks for the concern tho.
