cd deck......
do you HAVE to take off ALL THREE panels(deck, shifter, and dash) off in order to install a deck into an FD????? anyone done it before?? any helpful hints?? how long on average???

On a FD the stock deck pops out the front with a couple of Blaupunkt tools (Ford Radio removers at your local autoparts store).
If it takes you more than 5 minutes you are doing something wrong.
Pop the little rubber covers in each corner of the radio, insert the Blaupunkt Key/ Ford radio tool. They will lighly lock in about half way. While pulling slightly towards each door with the respective Ford/Blau key, pull the radio straight back.
Unplug.
Your done... its Miller time.

You can also use two small drill bits instead of going out and buying a special tool. But depending on how the new head unit mounts you may have to pull the radio suround out anyway.
