I recently bought a shift **** like this one:

It really does look great and the **** itself seems to be of good quality...but I'm having some problems getting it installed right. This so-called "exclusive seven bushings system" is a little questionable. The **** ships with seven fairly soft plastic bushings, threaded on the outside to fit up into the **** and on the inside to fit different sizes of shifter shafts. The problem is I either can't get it to screw all the way down on the shifter, or if I tighten it it strips through the plastic threads and is loose. Right now I'm plagued with both problems, so it feels like a long-throw truck shifter and it swivels to boot.

Anyone else get one of these and have better luck? Is this the same way that other aftermarket shifters attach?

My MOMO shifter came with a few different sizes of rubber bushings and I just cranked it down until it was as low as I wanted it and then tightened up the three set screws. If you don't have set screws, and your bushings are soft, I don't think you're going to get a very good fit.

No set screws...they actually make a big deal about how that is an advantage. I may just try and put some adhesive on it. I'm sure I'll be able to break it loose when I need to, but for now...
