I want this exact color red for my FD, nothing less. I read the whole article and searched, but found nothing in refernce to the color name or code. thanks to all that help me out!

In that article it does say the colour.....its 99 spec red. colour code i dont know but if you can get that then your set.

 

thats all it says, doesnt quite say that the color is 99 spec red, but i get the feeling like it was a custom color from japan perhaps

The car was red originally; I didn’t want to change the color. When I ordered the rear wing I asked for it to be sent in red, but when the wing arrived it came with the 2000 red tone. So I matched the wing color to paint the car , that's how I got the red on the car.

The way that sounds to me is this:
He had his car painted that origional red color in the wrecked picture. Then his wing arrived which was painted FACTORY RED from the 2000 year of the car. So they got rid of the origional red from the wrecked picture and Repainted the car to the 2000 paint code. (Which is the same paint the wing had on it.) Hopefully that makes better sense then that article

So just find out what the 2000 paint code is an your are going to find your color you want. Goodluck!

Hmm, dont know anyone in japan. Anyway i can find out that code through a mazda website or dealer?

 

I think it's "I need a towel cus that car is so gorgeous" Red.

 

That car is beautiful! If I ever repaint my VR it will be that 2000 model red. Has anyone dug up the paint code yet?

I may stroll to the Mazda dealership and inspect the Rx8 red. Looked pretty good on a 8 when i saw it a few days ago...
