can here engine in the speakers

like the title says. if a rev the engine i can here it through the speakers. also the have a constant humming noise when the car is on or if the cars off and the headlights are on it does it. the sound increases when i turm the dimmer down. whats up with this. please halp me out!

Sounds like alternator whine feeding back through the stereo. Not exactly sure what causes it, but I think you can get noise filters to surpress it.

you have alternator whine CHECK ALL YOUR GROUNDS MAKE SURE THEY ARE TOUCHING BARE METAL, if metal has paint on it SAND off the paint. If that doesnt help you need ground loop isolators you can pick up at radio shack, iam 99% sure this is to a bad ground though somewhere.

if you have a after market stereo you will need to look at all the grounds and try to gound the stereo it self to the chase and not use the stock wire harness.

Sounds like a bad ground to me too. As posted before just check all them and placed right.
