c-west or rotary extreme.....
Hi, i am planning to get a sleek headlight kit. I am deciding between the c-west and rotary extreme. Here are my likes and dislikes....
ROTARY EXTREME:
Likes: HID compatible.
Dislikes: the black thing around the lexan cover is too thick. Cutting Frame.
C-WEST:
Likes: Looks nice. Doesn't require to cut frame. Dislikes: Uses fog lights. Heard that the lighting sucks. Affraid that the bubble effect wouldn't look smooth.
Give me some opinion to which one i should get.
thanks

honestly,
There isn't a headlight kit out for our cars that really has it all together. They all have some MAJOR compromise. I'm not even so interested in killer lighting (i don't think the stock w/ upgraded bulb is that bad)... i wanted one tht is DOT legal, GOOD looking and not "kit" looking, and allowed better access to the passenger oil cooler opening.
The RE, and the RE Amemiya, look too obviously like kits to me, require frame cutting, and feature stick-on covers
C-west i pretty good looking and looks fairly "finished", but is not legal, lighting is poor and PURPLE.
All the others like Run racing, East bear are hidious IMHO.
Low profile pop-ups like the Kinightsports or the "someday" kit from N-tech won't offer any reeal weight savings or access to the oil cooler opening.
I had real hope for Jim LaBrecks kit, because i thought he had the right goals, but it doesn't look like its happening.
If the old ASP kit could have used some real headlights, it might have had promise.
Oh well

I think that the C-West would be great if they can be converted into HIDs....I was wondering if the HELLA 90MM would fit the C-West light pods and replace the fog lights. If they actually fit, the HELLA 90MM can be turn into HIDs. That would be awesome...Lets hope someone would come up with a better kit but for now i'll have to buy the C-West or the Rotary Extreme...I need more opions from you guys...thanks
I have the Cwest and they look great, but light up ****, even with the hi beam and low beam on at once. my visibility with just the low beam on is about 5 ft out and total darkness around. I also love to go canyon racing at night and that just kils it, and reduces me to tail gating poor civics with HID kits in front of me. Even though Chuck's (RotaryExtreme) HID's require alittle cuting, its is well worth the money and looks just as good. And from what I hear, chuck will personal come to your house and install them for you too
. JK, go with the rotaryextreme kit if you want a sleek light kit that actually works.

does anyone have a picture of the c-west and rotary extreme kit on a silver rx7? If you guys do, can you post it please? My main concern about the rotary extreme is that it might look weird on a silver rx7 because the black stuff on the lexan cover is too thick. Oh yeah, why does rotary extreme charge 600 bucks for HID while phillips HID system is about 400 bucks? I heard that there are something else done to it, not quite sure though....post up some pics for me guys..thanks...

yeah
the big concern of rotary extreme sleek light is cutting frame~
i just afraid that the cut sections will leak if converted back to stock headlight.
I will go with the rotary extreme HID kit if it's not necessary to cut the frame.

I imagine you might be able to tear apart the pod and make it work, although I don't think any on this forum has done it.
