BUS audio in?
Excuse me for being an audio newb, but I have what seems to be a simple problem on my hands. I have a Sony CD/MP3 deck in my car, and in the back it has RCA audio in ports labeled "BUS Audio In". I was under the impression that I could hook up my iPod to this, and be able to play the iPod through my car speakers. But I can't. I can switch sources between a CD and the radio, but it won't recognize anything attached to the BUS audio in port.
There's also another connector in the back called "BUS control" which I'm guessing has something to do with it. I don't even know what BUS stands for, so I'm sure I'm missing something.
But to anyone with audio knowlegde, how do I hook up an MP3 player to my cd deck?

I'm not an expert on Sony stereos, but a quick Google search seems to indicate you need to get an adapter kit from Sony that will give you an AUX in. It looks like that's a proprietary plug that is made so you can hook up Aux ins, CD changers, etc into it.

I won't let go
If your deck has CD changer control, that's what it's for. There's a circular port for the CD changer and the RCA inputs are for the audio piece of that. You won't ba able to select that since the deck doesn't think anything's there without the other piece plugged in.

Well right, I understand that, but what I was asking was if there was any way around this. Like if I use a jumper wire and connect a couple of the pins on the BUS control "circular port", or maybe put a resistor in there, can I fool it into taking the audio from the iPod?
Maybe I'll just get a wire and start connecting pins, see what happens. The worst that could happen is I blow the CD player, but I'm gonna get a new one if this doesn't work out anyway.
