A box question...
I recently joined a car club. We are sponsored by a local sound place, but the club is mostly performance oriented - not all show/no go stuff). Well, a while ago my BOSE system died. I wanted to replace it with something so I just had a custom setup put in. This included a 12" sub in the rear hatch. They had to build a false floor out of wood to have something to mount it to (instead of the carpet there before). Anyway, with this wood floor, my spare tire became basically useless because I can't get the wood piece out without taking off 3 or 4 things first. So, I took out the spare. This is what my hatch looks like now:
What I am wondering is:
- can I cut a square hole in the wood floor and set the box down inside of it? Basically, put the box in the spare tire hole? Would this sound terrible or cause things to vibrate? Would it even fit?
OR
-should I take the stuff out of there completely - and run with NO sound system. I might (probably) be getting a DD soon, so should I rip the system out of the 7 and put it in the other car? Just save the 7 for complete performance stuff?
I just think the Box looks really akward there right now. It's really large, and sticks up, taking all of the space that I have back there. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks,
Tyler

nobody has any suggestions? I think it looks stupid right now. Maybe I can build something around it to make it look flush with the sides of the plastic molding?
