Bose uninstall slowly driving me insane.

Hey you guys, I'd appreciate any help I can get here...
I'm in the middle of replacing my bose factory head unit. As you read this, my car is sitting in my garage undrivable because I have the interior ripped apart. Here's the problem:

I took the interior surround pieces out, and I swear it looks like the bose head units are levitating there. I have tryed pulling on them and everything, but it's like they are welded in there! I see no bolts or screws holding it in! How do I get the piece of junk head units out?

Thank you so much,
Ryan

put a thin screw driver in the little holes on the face and turn them and the head units will slide out. Be careful of the dash it scratches easily.

Both the Tape and CD units are essentially "backstrapped" into the dash. You need the removal tools, or you can fabricate your own. To make your own, use a metal coat hanger and cut a notch into the metal, you need 4 pieces. with the coathanger pieces inserted into the head unit pull hard. The unit is held into the back of the dash with a bolt into a rubber grommet. Basically you have to muscle it out. None of the dash pieces need to be removed. Good luck,

eric

Hey Ryan,

Sounds like you've figured it out now but in case you're still having problems check out the following link:

http://carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalMazRX7Stereo.htm

These are the instructions out of the shop manual and the pics may help to give you a visual of how to use the coat hangers mentioned above.
