bose stereo problem?

Well I enjoy the sound of my stock bose system but the deck has been pissing me off. First off, it is soo damn tempermental about reading cd's. It does not track. most cd's aren't even read and if they are, it only reads certain parts of them. Lately however I have been having a problem with the system cutting out. It cuts out all the speakers except for the center channel for a few seconds then comes back in. Is this the head unit? I would like to replace the head unit either w/ another bose or maybe an aftermarket w/ the adapter to work with the bose system. I just need to know if that problem is associated with the head unit, as I don't want to replace it and find that I need to replace speakers/amps, in that case I would rather just get all new stuff.

Thanks,
Aaron

I had a similar problem where my passenger's door speaker cut out. I got a new head unit and it works perfectly. You do have a chance that it could be your amps, but I would say that your head unit is the problem.
