BOSE Question

I bought an FD not too long ago and I'm still in the process of learning.

How do you tell if the car is a BOSE or not?

The reason I ask is because on the Tape/CD/Radio player it says BOSE, but the car did not come with the "snake" and I do not see any pictures of where the snake would sit in the rear hatch.

Is the BOSE system that good? Would it be better to buy a complete used BOSE system (~$300) or get after market speakers/HU?

Do you know if you have a touring package? It would be VERY obvious if you had the BOSE snake in the hatch;

I can't comment on the quality of the system because my entire radio system was taken out of my car.

I like the bose system. It supplies quality sound. Some people confuse quality and quantity as one. On that note the snake is not a boom box.

I believe that in your car the snake was taken out or the the deck was put in one or the other. Do you have speakers right behind you?

Is it worth it buying a used bose sytem? Not really. These systems are close to 14 years old so chances that something will go wrong in the near future is high. IMO get yourself a quality deck, some component speakers for the front, some 6x8's (or 5x7's...I forget what size they are back there I know they are not 6x9's), a decent base speaker in a box, and of course an amp and you will be good to go.

depends on what you're looking for, bose system sounds good but its 14 years old and not exactly a "ladies pleaser" if ya know what i mean. shouldnt cost you 300 to get the snake, but in my opinion 100 bucks toward a new system is a good way to go
