I installed 2 8" subs in the back of my fd with a 1 cubic foot box and i think one of the speakers is partially blown.
Subs are 2 OZ audio vector 8" single voice coil 300w rms wired @ 2ohms, powered by 1 alpine mrv-m500 amp (500w rms).
One speaker plays fine moves and sounds just fine. The other is playing but the cone does not move as much as the other speaker. I just retuned my gains using a multimeter and everything is set right where it should be, but i belive my brother may have turned the base control **** too high along with cranking the volume past the max. (Max volume before distorting)
When i tested the resistance of both speakers the both checked out at abou 4.1ohms, so i am a little confused as how to the resistance could be fine but the sub is blown?
Any audiophiles that can help out with any input would be greatly appreciated!!!!
-Are these in a single box with no divider in it?
-With a divider(Chambered box) or separate boxes?
-Have you checked that the polarity of each speaker is connected correctly? That's a 2ohm stable amp so all your (+/-) connections should look like the picture below.

Its not a divided camber, but a single camber for both woofers. Wiring is correct as per diagram.
I took another look yesterday and noted the screw holding the negative terminal onto the speaker had come a little loose. I glued it down and put some solder to make sure the screw wouldnt back out again and it seems like it is playing normally again
