A wax is not what you need. What you need is a polish, which I would reccomend several steps. I would start with a clay bar, and then work to a pretty abrasive polish to remove swirls (like Meguris scratch X or einszeit Ultra Polish) and then moving to progressively less abrasive polishes until you are ready for a very light polish followed by a layer of carnuba wax like P21s or S100

for the best polish/wax, use zaino. it doesnt leave a white residue adn it makes the car look beautiful. like it just came off the showroom floor.

i use it all the time, thats the only polish i use.

Use Zaino...they have non-abrasive polish that will get rid of imperfections.

www.zainobros.com

Also, do a search for a past thread about the NSX site doing a test between several of the different brands. Interesting results.

ACTUALLY....what you want is to wash the car with Dawn dishsoap (removes waxes already on). From their do 3-4 coats of "3M Imperial Hand Glaze" (it can be found at Pep Boys, product #39007. It is the consumer version of what body shops use. It is a hand buffing compound that removes swirls and fills. Following 3-4 coats of that you should apply 3 coats of what you think is the best wax. This will first get rid of swirls and imperfections (using realistic expectations!!) then seal the paint.

He should not use 1 product multiple times. He would get much better results using more abrasive polishes followed by less and less abrasive polishes until he is ready for a coat of wax. Using a few different product once each will produce much better results

i haven't used ziano.. I've heard its quite expensive.. but works great!!

I've recently tried S100 and I love that stuff.. I have black 3rd gen.. and cost is reasonable.. I think prep and wax was total of 28 bucks.. I picked it up from Harley Davision dealership,.

I detailed and worked for a dealership body shop for 3 years, my neighbor advised this who is a body man for 15 years, and the person who just repainted my car also advised it and he has been doing body work for 30 years. I like those odds and knowledge of expertise, but I'm just throwing it out there...isn't my car.

(however, in my case since it is new paint I am to do as many coats of 3M glaze as I can in a month, then wax after the paint has hardened more)

Zymol.. and not the cheap liquid crap you can get @ autozone. actuall but the hd cleanser so you can get off all the dead paint use nice applicator pads and microfiber clothes to remove wax either get the japon or the carbon. i use the japon. but have used to carbon on old cars. stuff is great all natural. hd cleanser smells kinda like chocolate.

If youve got new paint you shouldnt need any polishers (maybe something really light) because the paint is still in great shape (very few swirls, etc). I'm a detailer also

Hey YellowUFO, if you find the review by the NSX owner, you'd be surprised by the result. They tested the normal Zymol they got at Walmart, the expensive NSX formula that costs something like $130-50 a tub, and Zaino.

The top performer was Zaino, in their opinion. The REALLY surprising thing is, the Walmart Zymol beat the special, expensive stuff. What say you now?

I like meguiars or to solve all of the problems of this confusing coats and more coats and more coats. You could save yourself the 10 man hours it sounds like this would take and go get it professionally done the first time and get there advice for the next time. This way you know its done properly and right the first time and then you go from there on your own already starting with a good base to go from.

or you can pay yourself $20 an hour for a non-complicated job and get it done just as well.

infinatebass well i am going by experince on what i used and believe that is all he asked for i didnt like the cheap stuff when i used it the stuff i used was only about 38 dollars a jar and had absolutly nothing none organic in it. and as far as long term use goes this stuff was used on my car for its life span with factory paint and the paint still looks great in its 11th year. So thats what i have to say about that. I love the zymol i use it works great its easy to apply and leave almost to residure even if you accidently hit the trim and molding. in which case the cheap zymol will leave that nasty white haze on molding. so if you think my opinion is wrong that is all good man ill stick to what i use and will continue to recomend it to anyone that asks

Don't you think that a relatively decent test comparing several brands side to side is worth more than the opinion of a person who's only tried one or two products?
