Best OEM (Any Manufacturer) Color?

I'm about to repaint my FD, and I'm taking suggestions on what to repaint it, but I'm trying to limit my selections to OEM colors of any current manufacturer so the shop can match it if I end up in a little scratch session with some SUV-driver in the movie theater parking lot.

Bring the suggestions! Mercedes, BMW, Subaru, hell I don't care where it's from.

some really nice colors:

Ferrari red
Ferrari yellow
WRX or Civic Si blue
BMW silver

all other colors are pretty much the same with all manufacturers. but i would stick to either BMW or Mercedes paint, since the paint they use is much higher quality that anything else.

BMW currently uses a deep red as a color for the M5.

Porsche has a deep blue that resembles Kandy Cobalt Blue. They also have a very brilliant white.

Right now (if I can't justify a full repaint for Chameleon-type paint) I'm leaning toward the Subaru WR Blue Ridge Pearl with a nice metallic silver racing stripe.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks guys!

The Chameleon color can be a real pain should you need to repaint any area. Like if you get a ding, scratch, etc...it will definitely cost you. I'm not too fond of the WRX color...probably because the Civic blue killed that color for me.

To each his own on the WRX color, but for clarification, it is not the same color as the WRX or last year's 2.5 RS. At least not unless they've (Honda) updated the color.

Subaru's paint has much more flair to it than does Honda's. The Civic paint (Si I believe) was not as metallic and not as flashy...or maybe it's just because those cars are a couple years older now.

Enuttage good color choice, but I've never been a fan of racing stripes. If you like them then go for it.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the "baby viper" look with the dual racing stripes, but there's a car that's popped up on this board here and there that has a '99 kit on it with a single thick racing stripe with some pinstripes to frame it...I think that looks pretty damn slick.

I don't know if you know the one I'm talking about.

How about that deep Purple that the NSX had in the late 90's?

Here's a pic of the look I'm after...dangerously close to being a copycat.

The difference would be that I'd have the WR BRP on it with a titanium or metallic silver stripe. The Panoz Esperante Titanium is SWEET.

BOOSTD, you got any pics of the old NSX purple? I'm interested to see what it looks like.

My personal fav is Toyota's Royal Saphire Blue (?) it was a Supra color offered in '97 or '98 and I think it was offered only that one year. The color is absolutely AMAZING when the sunlight hits it.

Dr. Wankel,

I found out that the Supra color was only offered two years...'97 and '98.

I can't find any pictures though, and now you've piqued my interest. Got any snapshots?

The color is actually called Saphire blue pearl.

You can't really tell from the pics but in the right light the color will take on purple hues as well.

As far as silver goes, I think that the Porsche silver has to be the best. I made this conclusion after I looked about a dozen silver paint swatches at a body shop.
