BASF Extreme Colors Paints
I'm looking into repainting my FC if and when we get the front end made from rotary-extreme and was talking to a friend who owns a local body shop and he showed me helmet of his sons (helmet for supercross) that was painted with a BASF Rainbow paint. It is part of a series of paints by them called Extreme Colors. It was totally wicked! Many different colors depending on what angle you were looking at it, purple, orange, blue and everything in between. Anyway heres my request. Anyone with pictures of a car painted with this paint, not just the Rainbow but all the other colors ..
Electric Plum
Twilight Jade
Emerald Mist
Rainbow
Wild Cognac
Ocean
Caribbean Night Mist
Copperhead Bronze
Cotton Candy
Purple Haze
Sundown Cinnamon
Tahitian Sunset
...could you post links or pictures of them here. I'd like to see them all if I can before shelling out 250 clams per pint.

Ok, i've found a few pictures of some cars with the Rainbow and it looks nice but i'm not shooting for the purple/blue/green look. More like the red/ornage/goldenbrown look i think but still looking for any pics of it.

Sheeesh!!!
And I thought that $250 a gallon for the stock paint was expensive!
Are you planning to strip off the old paint first? I'm thinking of a re-paint for mine using the stock color, but first having the car stripped down to the primer.
Without materials do you know what the labour will be?

Materials is going to run around 1500.00 and labor another 1500.00, The car has no rust and only 3 small dings. Small town paint shop with low overhead. We had talked about, 4 or 5 coats of extreme over the base and about 7 coats of clear with wet sanding between. He thought it might only take 3 or 4 pints of extreme since it's a small car. About double a normal paint job because of the paint price and the labor in wet sanding and polishing the clears. That is a high estimate, he said it would not be over that.
