BASE stock stereo question......
So then I have a base FD without all the extra Bose crap. I'm going to be replacing the HU with an aftermarket one. Now I heard that the stock HU is connected to some sort of stock amp?
Does the replacement sound as easy as it looks? Just buy a new HU and plug it into the dash or do I need a new aftermarket amp to run it.
And also I will be getting new front and rear speakers. From my experience and knowledge I could just take out everything and hook up new front/rear speakers to a new HU......

Dan, you should be able to hook up new speakers to existing wiring.
The new head-unit will not just plug in. You will have to redo the wiring harness unless you just want to purchase a harness adapter (like from Crutchfield). With the adapter, it should be plug-and-play.
The only amp the non-Bose system has is for the center-channel speaker. It is already wired in, so don't worry about it.
