automatic seat belt not working...

Hey all, I just bought an 89 GTU yesterday and there are a couple of problems that I would like to fix right away. The first is the automatic seat belt on the drivers side. You close the door, put the key in the ignition and the automatic seat belt doesn't move. The passenger side does, but mine doesn't. Is this a common problem? Anybody know the most likely cause of this failure (electric motor, fallen off track...)?
Thanks for any advice

Well..

Usually I'd say that the dealer is the last place that you want to be, but there is a recall that obligates them to warrantee the auto-seatbelts forever. I got my '91 drivers belt fixed for free by mazda. I wish I remembered where the site was that had the recall info, but you should just be able to take it to the dealer.

Of course they'll probably tell you they have to rebuild the engine to fix the seatbelts..
