I don't agree with the big bass mentality on a sports car; and I don't think you are looking for that, based on your 500watt system.

I'll suggest two 10 inch SAS Bazooka, that way you can remove them at any time; without any problems or headaches.

Subs in the box works ok, not great, but it keeps them out of sight, which is a big plus. Another option is to get a normal box, secure it in the trunk and get one of the reasonably rare cargo covers to keep it hidden.

I used to have 2 subs in the boxes and had the amp hidden under the carpet behind the passenger seat, worked fine, was totally hidden, but I decided it wasn't worth it and I'm now down to only 2 speakers in the doors.

I would keep it stock because it gives people another reason to steal the car.

Years ago I had 2 JL Audio 15W6's in a box firing straight up. It was a custom box that replaced the storage compartments. The woofers were right behind me. I had the amp rack behind the box. I built a cover that looked like a false floor but it was 5" higher than stock. It looked innocent enough but was loud as hell. With as much power and cone area as I had, which way they were firing was irrelevant. The car was damn loud and damn slow from the extra weight. It was ultimately stolen. The rear window is no match for a sledgehammer. Hidden is one thing but booming in public is what drew attention and led to it's demise.

Well, you are going to high school so there is no use in trying to hide it. You know damn well that u will be bumping in the parking lot. Get an alarm if you want to be loud. One with the key chain that lets u know ur **** is leaving. Also, if you want sq instead of loudness, get an infinity basslink. You can pop it under your seat and be set. Also consider a single subwoofer. Maybe a 12 or a 10. If you want, I have a setup i can sell you that will hit hard for cheap. Memphis M3 Mojo 12 with box and a memphis pr100.4 (400 watt). Both are in great shape (hardly used b/c i grew out of the whole bass thing) $200 plus shipping. The 12 is like $350 to buy. Its the one that you can rebuild for like $75. PEOPLE im not trying to turn this into a fs section, just trying to help someone out.

hey, i used to run 2000w amp to a 1500 rms duel voice coil 15' sub. whats wrong with a loud *** system? and who says he has to be in high school? he could be a 35 year old man wanting to destroy whats left of his hearing. but he is in high school, so, who cares, at least hes honest.
anyways, loud *** system, high SPL, or just ridiculous setups, its all based on a few factors
1) whats your price range?
2) any preferences towards look or sound quality or spl, rms level, ect ect ect?
3) how long are you willing to not have a car?
4) fiberglass full custom setup or hidden system?
see what im saying, just throwing it out there, "i want a loud *** system" doesnt get anyone anywhere. you need to decide on products, size, rms level, cost, install time.
for a full very powerful system (2 amps, 2 subs, extra battery, 2 component speaker sets, double din headunit, sound deadening, stealth install) you are looking at 2-5g, depends on the products used, and 1-2 weeks out depending on who you go to, or 2 months for full fiberglass.

peace

i am not sure hoe the bins hook in on the s5 but i am reasonable sure its the same as the s4. it probable has a platic kind of false floorin to hold the bins up that runs down behind the seats. if you remove the plastic and build a box behind the seats to be even with the floor you can cover it all up with the stock carpet. might not be as loud as firing at the glass but you can make them fire into the back of the seats. so you still get the feel.

I have 750 watts amp running 2 12" sony subs in a box in the back with 2 Pioneer 6x9s (both in boxes) where the bins were and Sony 6.5" in the strut towers.

Not the best but it gets the job done so far!

That's exactly how I had built mine except for the fact that I had to go up 5" due to the size of the woofers and the airspace required.

You just can't tell a difference in that car when it comes to woofer placement in the rear. It all goes boom! I had all sorts of combinations. I finally settled on 8's in the floor in the front of the car. I moved the stock ecu to under the passenger seat. Boxes were built inside the crumple zones and the 8's completel hid under the floormats. The driver's side woofer was in front of the clutch pedal. Yes there is room to do this without hurting structural integrity of the car. It sounded pretty cool having bass come from up front as it should! It wasn't an spl king though. It was a nice well balanced low end.

I did custom installation for 10 years which culminated in a championship win at both IASCA and USAC world finals. This was back around 2000 and I've long moved on from that industry. I learned an awful lot though. If you get creative, you'll be surprised at what can be done.

nah, our cars are ones that you dont need to take out the spare tire. leave it alone, it doesnt weigh that much, plus you never know when you need a spare, unless you have brand new tires all the time. learned that the hard way.
anyways, use the bin area for subs and amps and stuff, or just hide a sub and amp in them, always looks clean.

just put a slammin system in there and 5% tint on rear glass, for added illegal security throw some 30% on the door glass, then get you an alarm with a 2 way pager that works for a mile, and if someone tries to jack your ****, get up tell the teach to bite off and go put the smack down on your local thugs.. my alarm is pretty good, has a door trigger, trunk trigger, shock sensor and even a hood trigger, you can also put a backup battery if you think they will cut ur cables to eliminate your alarm and it was just a couple hundred bucks..

In one of my FC TII's I have two 500 watt 12in subs mounted in their own boxes in the back. They are held down with the stock luggage luggage straps. All my windows are tinted so you can't really see them. And they are really easy to take out if I have to because of the straps. But over all the system is not too loud and not too quiet. The RX7's have a great acoustic setup. I think my 7's sound systems sound better than my supra.

here is my audio set up...i pretty much took some mdf from my work and cut it out to fit where the storage bins would go but my car doesnt have them...and screwed them down alot and there are some bolts too it would be pretty hard to just rip everything out, for the sub i have a 10 and it sits right behind my driver seat(see pics) same idea with the amp, where the storage bins would be there is an empty space so the sub can still hit fine, it sounds the exact same as when i had it in a truck style box, my amp is a kenwood 720c and the sub is the older kenwood typhoon, the deck also is a kenwood, i also have front and rear kenwood speakers(no pics of them installed...its not really loud you cant hear from a block away but it sounds VERY good in the car, here are some pics, they were taken from my cell phone so they arent good quality, enjoy. SORRY THE PICS ARE BIG ALSO

you could also make the amp and sub sit forward to hit against toward you seat would be less noticeable thats how i had my amp behind my passenger seat did not get in the way.

SPL usually mean LARGE enclosures...
Just box out the entire back.
That should do it.
I did this with a CRX that used to run a pair of SS-12's with 3 cubic feet of space EACH.
