Audi Led Style Lights ?

I am suprised that none of the manufacturers have produced any 99 spec bumper lights with leds like the R8 - or at least I have not seen them...

I am not sure how it would look, but potentially great.

What do you guys think ?

I think it won't make the car any faster, more reliable, nor handle better.

Therefor a waste of time and money.

Hey, you wanted to know what I think!

I love seeing the new audis rolling around. those LEDs know how to attract my attention, but it just wouldn't look right on our cars.

The Audi LED DRL's look very cool right now because they are so rare. However, the streets will be flooded with them in 2009. The A5/S5 has them now (with those cars basically ramping up for 2009 sales) and the new A4/S4 will have them next year. I would imagine the A6 will also get them for 2009 as well.

That kind of blows as it's really cool right now with our A5 to be the only one around with them. It really does get people's attention.

It is also on the TT
Some other makers Saab, Maserati, Aston Martin have also started including led lighting
In Europe it is all over the place
But I agree with you it is a bit of a fad that may wear off like lexus style lights

I thought of doing that earlier this year, but (like many of my ideas) it's on hold as I tackle something more grand. It would look good on an FD with a handsome flush light kit, but not pop-ups.

...I think there is more to that, as I noticed the audis have sort of a series of mini refelctors, that's how they focus the lights....

The more i picture it in my mind, the more wicked it will look in the 99 turn signals...they just have the perfect shape...picture a series of wite leds running from the right, below the actual two other bulbs to the top left hand corner...

WICKED !

You stole my idea you bastard! I've been looking into this for a few months now. Going back and forth between the Audi look (inset into the turn signal assembly) and what Porsche has done (a LED light bar in the top part of the oil duct). I think I'm going to try pulling apart the turn signal assembly and retrofitting them in there.
