Anyone Tried Out the Knightsport Headlights Yet?

These...

I plan on buying a HID headlight upgrade kit immediately. I am still undecided on what to get.
It's either the RE flush kit, the Hnightsport housing w/ HID upgrade mentioned about, or just HID H4 in the stock housings.
I like the RE kit, but I like the looks of the stock pop ups. That is forgivable though because the kit is supposed to have awsome lighting. The only drawback for me is that it's not really plug and play.
Dropping HID H4 into might not be worth it. The housings suck and the lighting wouldn't be the best w/ the HID. Might not be worth the money. I've seen pics of the beam patterns, but have not seen pics of the lights on the road. Anyone have the pics?
The Knightsports would be perfect if it replaces the stock housings w/ better ones that will yield a good beam pattern.

im in the same situation. i want to upgrade, but with the prices of the jdm headlight kits you better be sure of what your getting. i've tried emailing fdnewbie, who sells the knight sports kit with no reply. i heard all the sleek look kits such as re, have issues with fogging up and lense issues in humid or rainy weather. plus all the sleek look kits require irreversible damage to the original headlight mounts. please let me know if you get some info. i've found some rx7club members making their own kits with the pop-up that appear ok, but not as cool looking as the original knight sports kit, and some ugly projector replacements that put out great light, but look ugly as mentioned. its hard spending almost $2000.00 on somthing that you cannot get pictures or info about. plus i cannot read japaneze. i know one thing, the factory light output is scattered and weak.

You do know you just reopened a thread from 2002 right?

If you want good lighting then there are not many options available. The sleek kits don't work well and the KS units you are drooling over don't work well either. I have seen the HID version of the KS kit in person and it is very poor. I love the look but for the bucks, I expect excellent lighting.

You can't just shove in a HID bulb in the stock headlight either and expect quality lighting. Read up on optics and you'll know why. So what are your options?

You can get in on the GB from SakeBomb garage and get a well priced bi-xenon upgrade that will light up the road great. From my perspective the downside is they look like crap and they also are not DOT/SAE legal. You second option is the kit from:

https://www.rx7club.com/group-buy-center-69/dual-90mm-headlight-kit-available-pre-order-888281/

These use DOT/SAE legal HIDs and will work great for you. In fact, you probably only need the halogen version to get great lighting. If I were going to stay full height popup, then I would get these as I know a lot about the Hella headlight modules that are used in them and they are top-notch. My issue is I don't like the full popup look though.

So, option three is to make your own kit. Search my name and find the one I did for myself because nothing else was available. I used 50mm HIDs for the low beams and 90mm halogens for the high beams. I am still waiting on the custom shrouds to be completed though. The result? great lighting with a much update look.

To do this though you need pretty good skills for fabrication as it is not easy.

Good luck.

Might be a stupid question but i have to ask it anyway!

Are these any stronger than the OEM candle like ones?

I t would be great to have a comparison picture of someone has it available.

Cheers,
Konstantinos.
