haha, i thought up something of that sort the first day i started driving. I didnt read the whole thread, so dont flame... Ive seen this device for crotch rockets, its a screen that covers your plate and should roscoe P coletrain be in hot pursuit on your ***. You flick a switch and the screen turns white blocking the plate numbers, pretty sweet eh?
Another thing i was in the process of developing to evade the police was a mechincal device that dumped tire piercing shrapnel from under the car. So when the cop gets on your ***, hit the switch that dumps tire peircing metal objects, and then carry on. :-)
Officer #2 "why didnt you stop for that pursueing officer"
me: " Well he turned on his lights and pulled over right away so i thought nothing of it" But that wouldnt be an issue, because i would have made sure his tires blewout as well, haha.
hee hee, plus it would work great for when some jag cuts you off and or pisses you off while driving. :-D

I would say that if you were to use any of the options listed in this thread, and then DIDN"T get away.. particularly the rear-facing blinder light, you wouldn't be driving anything for a long time. They could even construe that you endangered the cop's life by blinding him... you could REALLY be in for it on a level thats bigger than any ticket... better off taking your medicine politely, and then hiring a good attorney to fight it in court.

I have a buddy that put his liscense plate on hinges with a hydralic ram attached to it. I'n the event that the cops were "chasing" him, he would activate the power, causing the ram to pull the plate under his motorcycle.

Wow, I didn't think anyone would think we were serious!
Personally, if I was an officer, and I saw anything that resembled a "device" on someone's license plate, I'd to pull the sucker over, regardless of what they were doing. That LCD plate-blocker manuf. must be a gov't sting. Watch out!

Once time when I was at a car show a dude with a subaru 2.5 rs had an electronic ram on his license plate that pushed the plate down and behind the plate was like 9 light bulbs that were bright as hell. I would say that is the best thing you can do. plus we have room behind the license plate to put things like that. Ramy man this is Crucial. Or you can try that new fiber opbic cover that makes your car invisible. They've been testing these over in Asia for sometime I believe.

If someone can prove in court that you recklessly endangered someone's life with your actions, you can be held liable... Concockting a device on your car for the expressed purpose of blinding someone to ellude capture would be a slam dunk for anybody who could pass a bar exam... don't kid yourself... i'll bet that that Florida law was intended to apply to lights that came on your car... and it wouldn't govern a civil suit anyway.

STATE UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL View Entire Chapter
316.233 Spot lamps and auxiliary lamps.--
(1) SPOT LAMPS.--Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not to exceed two spot lamps and every lighted spot lamp shall be so aimed and used that no part of the high intensity portion of the beam will strike the windshield, or any windows, mirror, or occupant of another vehicle in use.
(2) FOG LAMPS.--Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not to exceed two fog lamps mounted on the front at a height not less than 12 inches nor more than 30 inches above the level surface upon which the vehicle stands and so aimed that when the vehicle is not loaded none of the high intensity portion of the light to the left of the center of the vehicle shall at a distance of 25 feet ahead project higher than a level of 4 inches below the level of the center of the lamp from which it comes. Lighted fog lamps meeting the above requirements may be used with lower headlamp beams as specified in s. 316.237(1)(b).
(3) AUXILIARY PASSING LAMPS.--Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not to exceed two auxiliary passing lamps mounted on the front at a height not less than 24 inches nor more than 42 inches above the level surface upon which the vehicle stands. The provisions of s. 316.237 shall apply to any combination of headlamps and auxiliary passing lamps.
(4) AUXILIARY DRIVING LAMPS.--Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not to exceed two auxiliary driving lamps mounted on the front at a height not less than 16 inches nor more than 42 inches above the level surface upon which the vehicle stands. The provisions of s. 316.237 shall apply to any combination of headlamps and auxiliary driving lamps.
(5) VIOLATIONS.--A violation of this section is a noncriminal traffic infraction, punishable as a nonmoving violation as provided in chapter 318.
now, i never said that in that case that anyone was running from the cops or anything like that, and no it doesnt apply to light that came on your car. having a spot light that blinds one some as stated in section one is punishable as a nonmoving violation as stated in section 5. think about it, if it more that a moving violation do you think cops would try to blind you with their spot lights when they are pulling you over for speeding? if they thought by blinding someone they would loose control and hit something they wouldnt do it themselves.
