I did a search and results from a few years back seem to keep popping up.
Anyone ever find a good dash kit and have Pictures by chance ??
I see that CorkSport seems to have a pretty nice kit that actually covers just about all the dash pieces. It is the Bene Vento and comes in just about any finish including Carbon Fibre and Brushed aluminum.
TIA

^^^It is all mazdaspeed. States that it is only for RHD FDs though.

My FD had the stick-on CF stuff when I bought it. The gauge cluster part has been peeling for a long time, and I finally just pulled it off. Unfortunately, it left some glue behind. I like the look of that RHD interior from above. Eventually, I'll probably have something like that done.

I removed and covered my pealing dash, door, and console plastic with suede leather. Bought the leather at what was once "Tandy" leather (now owned by franchise holder). Used water based contact cement. Now I just brush my dash and console to clean them up.

I suppose you could use anything. Best part of the job is now I don't see the intrument hood reflected in the windshield! The black suede doesn't reflect enough light. That part was the easiest to do as well - once I got the instrument panel out.
The hardest parts were the passenger door handle and the instrument panel front - very curvey.

i guess what i mean by this is....when i imagine myself, finally owning my dream car, the FD ....i see nothing but the best products being used, and nothing half assed. if you can't afford it, don't do it....
i mostly hate the sticky carbon fibre, this is for 16 year old honda kids, not FD's, the classiest sports car out there

Well, in my case cheap wasn't the intention. Usefullness was. When the OE dash paint is peeling off, it looks really cheap. The leather absorbs sound. The leather doesn't reflect much light - solving one of my complaints of the RX-7 - in the wrong lighting conditions it's hard to see out the windshield due to the dash reflection. The leather also looks good. Oh, and in case you think this is "odd", check out many new expensive cars - they are doing leather on the instrument pod top for the same reflection reason I did.
Yes, it's unusual for an RX-7, but it's very functional. All good I think.
There is one drawback, leather dyes fade in sunlight - really fast. So it's going light brown.

I think anything that offers FULL COVERAGE is worth considering, be it painting and sanding, full CF wrapping (Mark Koch style), suede coverage, etc.
As far as the stick-on "kits". It reminds me of that line from "Top Secret":
Q: Know any good white basketball players?"
A: "There ARE no good white basketball players my friend. Souvineers, novelties, party tricks..."

I see how David used suede, but has anyone ever used black leather to wrap the dash? I am considering trying it. I think having a leather dash to match the leather in the car would make it look great. What do you guys think?
