Anyone have multimedia in their 7???

I am toying with the idea of installing one of those fold out HUs. However, I am haveing a hard time convincing myself that I will be able to take advantage of all its options that it has to offer. Since our 7's are only 2 seaters. Can we really take advantage of these fun toys?

Does anyone use any mobile entertainement? And, do you feel that it works with a small two seat car like ours? Does it interfere with shifting?

fyi, kenwood just released a new head unit that's double din, so it will fill up the entire dash. it makes it look like a monitor is all you have in the dash, but it's a full feature unit. also, it fits flush so you won't have clearance issues

I have a pop out 7" monitor, and a TV/DVD/CD/SVCD/WMV/MP3 player in my FD and I honestly havent used it in months - other than for cds and the radio. It was kinda cool to use for a few, and I pop in a DVD every now and then for the wow factor/tailgate parties, or on vegas runs. I'm going to take it out soon though for a straight am/fm/cd player. Unless I can ffigure out a way to display sensor information on the monitor....

IMHO the distraction and potential for tickets isnt really worth it - you can see RIGHT into an FD from behind from a long ways away

pioneer has a new head unit that displays tons of cool stuff like g-force, temperatures, etc.

it also has an option for rearview camera and has navigation. not too shabby for $2k
