Anyone had their BOSE speaker(s) or AMP(s) take a crap?

So I am cruising along listening to my stereo (not a stock head unit) but i have the schosche adapter and all that stuff. Everything is working fine and then all the sudden the passenger door speaker developes this crackling sound and sounds like total dogshit. I figured one of the wires came loose from the adapter so I pulled it out and everything looks fine.

I took my door panel off and I don't have a 6mm socket so I can't take the speaker off.. but it looks fine. I'm thinking I may have blown the paper cone and the speaker took a crap. The funny thing is, even when I have the volume down really low, or the balance all the way to the left... the speaker will still crackle. I think that the amp itself may have stopped working.. which seems more reasonable since I don't have the stereo that loud and my deck is adjusted so I can't turn it up loud enough to blow the speaker.

The drivers side works great, as does the center channel and rear speaker. I figure I can just leave it unplugged until I find a replacement. The stereo isn't a huge deal since my car is so damn loud anyway.

Just curious if anyone has had similiar problems with their bose amps, or speakers.

Go figure, it's not 6mm either... it's something between 6 and 7mm and i'm too lazy to do the metric to standard conversion.

Yeah, I had the same problem. I sent them to a shop in Florida and they fixed all the amps. I'll try and find the contact info
