Analysis of Leatherseats.com seat covers

I finally got my leatherseats from leatherseats.com. I know alot of you are curious of the quality and I have not seen anyone else post who bought them. I started installing yesterday I can say the quality of the seat covers compared to the stock is night and day. It becomes aparant when you take the OEM covers off and compare to the CFI seats....You will see exactly what pleather is. The CFI seats are soft and very luxurious feeling, I like them alot. I give them a 10 for quality and without any doubt feel they are a steal at 579.00 for the pair.

There are a few negatives. First you get no directions or indication which is driver and passenger side. I put reversed the seat back once and relized it was driver and not passenger. Also the OEM covers have special tabs with holes for the hog ties that the CFI covers don't have. Holes for the brackets and bolts on the side of the boster are missing from the CFI too.

Installation has been a bitch so far. I spent six hours last night on my passenger side and I have a few left still. I should have paid the 400 I was quoted to have it professionaly done, but don't want to wait 2 weeks for appointment.

According to the web page they only make for 83 to 85 RX7 and FD. You can call 866 new seat to see if they make it for the FC. Regardless of make/model the quality of the seats are the same.

Sound like getting a base or R1 seat is still the easiest replacement.

I tell you its worth the money though. The leather is softer and the style is slightly different, its more bunched up or pleated that the stock leather.

My only real complaint is the fact that the passenger seat did not come with a pocket like the factory one did. They agreed to mail me one and I will have someone sew it on.

The seats look so much better than stock, I will have pics by early next week.

Ok, I'm back with my real name, the rotary gods listened to reason and unbanned me. Creating new screen names and using a proxy to make my IP invisible was fun though.

I finished installing the leather seats tonite, its 100 pct done and I can say they look amazing and are 100 times more comforitable than the stock ones (they put alot of padding on them). I will post pictures this weekend.
