Am I missing something?
Alright, I took out my Pioneer that wasn't playing CDs anymore but still had stereo, and I put in a new Alpine. This is the second CD player I've tried (both have been the exact same Alpine) and I still don't get any sound for the CD just like the first Alpine stereo, so I'm pretty damn sure it's not in the stereo. I just don't get how I can be getting sound and everything for the stereo but not for the CD. The CD is playing, I'm just not getting any sound for it. I still have the "trigger" to turn on the amps (the part you need for aftermarket stereos). No it's not the mute button, obviously if I'm getting sound for the stereo it's not muted. Is there something I'm missing? Is it possible the trigger is bad somehow?
Pioneers are pretty good at it, but my experience with Alpines is that they are picky about slightly scratched or burned CD's. Some people couldn't be happier with them, but not my bag. To truley know WTF is going on, buy a good Clarion and hook it up

Well I tried several different CDs, and most of them didn't have ANY scratches on them so I'm still not sure what it could be. I took the stereo back so that after I get my clutch in I'm going to take the car up there and have THEM put it in, maybe they can figure it out. I don't really care what kind of stereo it is, I just always wanted an Alpine, I might try the Clarion though. Thanks for the input man.
