The problem is, these cannot be done "tastefully" while still being altezzas'.

You must be one helluva driver. Do you have a dyno sheet to back up that signature? By the way, what happened to the 13B in your fd....how did it blow?

ive raced dirtbikes, BMX, quads, race karts, and am workin on getting the FD on a road course. i can drive and race anything :-)
As for the 13b,, It was Pettit built 3mm seals, cryoed, street port (large) garret t66, apexi PFC, yada. The GF and i were going out and she wanted to go fast, so i start ripping gears only at 8PSI, wanted to be safe. Got it up to 165 and held it steady in 5th for maybe 15-20 seconds and let off, didnt engine brake, pulled it out of gear and let it coast. Was at a steady 8psi the entire time with no boost spikes or funny stuff. had 2 cycle oil mixed with 93 octaine. As soon as i pulled it out of gear i knew something wasnt right, didnt idle, revved up rough, ETC. AKA blown. Front rotor lost its seals with a passion. I guess it ran lean somehow, even with tuning and only 8 friggin PSI. That was the cars 2nd motor and the last! My dad is a porsche owner, he wouldnt let me buy another rotary engine. he said sell it or come up with an alternative. Thank god for hinsonsupercars.com :-) BTW my dad is a VERY VERY knowledgeable guy to all types of vehicles, he even had pictures of his *** sitting in a silver R1 at the chicago autoshow back in 92! how sweet is that? he loved the FD's, but disliked the small interior so he bought a porsche.

Tried selling the FD, no one wanted it, so i made the commitment to go LS1. No regrets what so ever.

Waiting on a few parts to make it complete and for those that might care or show interest il post a dyno graph.

So your saying you don't like rotary engines because your daddy told you not too? Maybe it blew on you because it didn't like you either

BTW, agreed on altezzas, if I see them on any rx7 (FB, FC, or FD) I'm going to on the owner.

I don't know why anyone would put a piston engine in an rx7. I don't think you had it tuned right or that wouldn't have happend. We like to blame everything on the rotary when usually 9 out of 10 its our own damn fault (I'm the biggest example of that). Anyways I think you are the pot calling the kettle black when you say you don't like altezzas but you have a piston engine in your freakin made for rotary sports car. Oh well to each their own.

I'm all for the V8 in an rx7. The rx-7 has a great chasis and is a great place to put just about any engine. An LSx engine or aluminum block engine is great because it won't mess up the weight distrabution much. I just hate when people are like "Pa, lets chuck out this hyar peice of **** rotary an' put a REAL ingine in hyar, ya recken?"

I would like to someday own a V8 rx7...along with more rotary engine rx7s.

So what you are saying is that you want to race me, for money, in a car that doesn't run .

Fine, we'll compromise......put the V8 in an FC; FDs are too rare .

how you guys work up a chub over the 20b swap is how much i love my Ls1 swap. Although the Ls1 swap actually keeps 50/50 weight dist.
I cant stand rotary engines, pisses me off how people praise them on this board. Which i guess would make sense being rx7club.com and all,,,but the guys on LS1tech dont get all fruity about their engines on how they make 1hp per CC and such...
Bottom line, if they are so great, how come piston powered engines power 99.99% of our cars today? Perhaps i dont belong on this board because my FD is piston powered, but whatever, im in the appearance forum anyhow :-D
To each his own, and untill a rotary RX7 smokes my Ls1/FD, il shutup, but il still go home not worrying about my engine's internals...For me, that alone i can go home happy that my FD is running, excellentmight i add, and sleep well.

Because this motors are too "CompleX" for the average joe, like yourself.
Also Because the average Joe doesn't know anything about the motor,
it makes them scared. Also you are in the wrong forum to belittle the
rotary engine.

friggin piston engines as well are too complex for most. How is the rotary too complex if the only moving parts are the rotors and E-shaft? In reality the piston engine would be more complex as stated by 100% of all you rotards.... "more moving parts" friggin lamers...
I know enough about the rotary to know that it doesnt belong in my FD and thats fine with me.
Im done with this bickering i have better things to do, like not buy altezzas or anything rotary related.

Yes the rotary has less moving parts that a piston, But yet its still to complex for ya!
Its not our fault that you don't understand how the motor works. And that you can't
build a rotary to stay alive enough to love the car. I really haven't had a real big
problem with people throwing V8s in the Rx-7s, its your car your choice, but when you
come on a forum that is all about rotary and say that the motor is **** (because you
don't know ****), you in the wrong forum. Go create your own PX-7 forums for you
your rotor hatting buddies.

Now to those others that did a V8 conversion, Its cool not a bad idea with the power to
weight ratio, just not my choice.

*Yawn.* If you ever get your car running, and you would like to see what a modded rotary can do to an all-motor V8, shoot me a PM

Heh, I was just thinking. I should buy some altezza tail lights and sneak them on my friends cars while they're parked in a parking lot. Sounds like a good april fools joke to me...I could even hide their stock taillights and blackmale them if I need to.
