Alpine CDA-9835

Anyone have the 9835? I found a really good deal on it from an authorized dealer. I'm wondering if anyone has this or the 9815 or the 9833. I just sold my Pioneer, so I'm wondering what some people with experience with these units thinks. If no one replies, I'll probably be going for the 9835. Thanks

Or... the Pioneer 860MP. I've read good things about it and it's definitely a good looking HU.

the new alpine line up is very nice-the 9835 only adds the different display over the 9833 for a $100 difference- your best buy is the 9831 if you plan on adding external amps, only problem is the face plate is a dark silver color and not black like the 33/35. Also the range of display colors is amazing!

Sweet, thanks a lot. My current plans don't include any external amps besides one for 2 12' subs. Later on I plan on upgrading, but for now, I'd like a good amp on the HU. I found the 9835 for 385. I found the 9833 for 345, so for 40 bucks I think I'm going to go for it. I mean I'm already putting out well over 300 dollars, why not spend a little bit more and get the best one, ya know?

*This* is Alpine's best:

And I don't know about spending, "a little bit more". More like, "breaking the bank".

The CDA-9835 is nice. I have Alpine's CDA-7897 in another car and wanted to pick up another one of their source units, however, the CDA-9835s were not in stock anywhere and wouldn't be available for a few more months and I didn't want to wait, so I ended up going Nakamichi. Post pics and gives us a review when/if you pick this up.

Yeah... I wish I could afford Alpine's best. What I meant by best, was simply the best of the ones I was looking at... sorry for not phrasing it correctly . But when I do get mine, I'll be sure to take some pics and write up some info on it . And yes, if I went for the 7990, that would definitely be breaking the bank... but for $40, that's not too bad, I mean, I save that up in my spare change in a few months. I'm just saying, that when I spend a couple hundred dollars, I'd rather put out a another $50 and get the best HU for my price range. I only intended on spending $200-300 tops when I began to look, and now I'm up to $400. It's hard for me to spend $300 when for a little more I can get something much nicer. I guess I have a problem
