They do if you bump them. I'll bet the 99 replicas may survive better than most because they still have the semi-flexible lip at the bottom.

Chances are that if you run into something in an FD, you'll be going fast enough to tear up any bumper.

the 99 bumper is the same quality as your stock bumper. it IS a stock bumper in japan, so it is made from the same abs plastic (better flex and paint cohesion properties than polyurethane) as your stock bumper now. a lot of people have the bumper holder shaved, but i would personally leave it on because once you have the body shop cut it out and layer over the hole, the most important part of the bumper (the part that would crack first from any bad parallel parking or slow-speed bumps) loses its good flex properties. i think you can get used to having the front bumper holder on there, especially with the bay area chp giving out more and more front plate tickets.

fiberglass isnt that bad, if you **** up your 1200 doller bumper buy hitting something, you cant drive. You know what you can and cant do. You have to respect it. My fathers car had a c-west bumper on it and we gave that bumper hell and it never cracked. What do you guys crack the fiberglass bumpers on??

Hey David, just go for the 99-front end. On a black car, the front license plate spot won't be that noticeable anyway. Actually, I think the 99-front end looks a little silly w/o the license plate -- it looks like it's smiling.

If I was spending that much money for a front end, I would get the OEM quality and functionality of the 99, verses aftermarket fiberglass stuff (most of looks cartoony to me anyway).

Im thinkin' of painting my car special edition Titanium!!!!!!

I don't know I find that MOST of the aftermarket kits are rice, I did fi nd a nice Cwest kit and nice Feed kit I like.

I'm tired of drooling over aftermarket parts, I think its time to mod my car!!!

BTW...I always like to hear your advice Tyler!!!

ooohh, Spirit R silver? I think you'd be trading the sinister qualities of the black for the snobby, sophisticated look of the silver.....

Thats the thing....

Black is just SICK. I mean the car is so Dark and mysterious. For the first 30 minutes after I wash it, my jaw drops. In a parking lot at night under the faint flourescent light the car looks so amazing.

Then I see the spirit R color and think that its beautiful, easy to maintain and its fairly unique, not every FD has that color.

What to do?

I had the same problem, but black is just too sleak, and sexy. I'm definately keeping mine black. I'm also going with the 99spec front end, and I will be keeping the license plate holder. It actually looks better with it, than without. Just my .07...

Isn't it true that in most states if you dont have a liscense plate holder you dont have to have a front liscense plate up there? I saw that in a thread somewhere around here.
