I notice 2 styles of the bumper that i believe is the 99 spec oem. One has a place to put a license plate and the other does not. Are these just 2 options? or is the one without the plate just a replica? thanks.

 

The one w/o the plate holder is a replica.

 

+1, IMO the one with the plate looks a lot better.

 

The Genuine one is also plastic, meaning it can a take a few knocks. As far as i know the replica ones are usually FRP (Unless someone out there makes a plastic plateless OEM style one?) so are less resilient.

 

Rotary Extreme made a replica and tried to use PolyFiber (Polyurathane and Fiberglass) which and without shaved plate holder. Maybe someone has one that he/she didn't use... but that'd be my only guess... as RE is no longer in business.

 

Mine is w/o holder and made of poly. Rx7 store can get them
