Looks pretty good, Bryan. Is it just me, or do the replica bumpers all have wider gaps between the headlight covers on the right side of the car?

I've got the rebar. Its been 2 years since I put the bumper on, but IIRC the bolts I am referring to in the mouth bolt into the rebar area? The 2 bolts I am talking about are vertical and go up into something there. Had 10mm heads on them. To solve the issue with the hood meeting the bumper you basically pull UP on the bumper from the front with the bolts not installed and then drill the holes and bolt it in there. This will keep the bumper forced upwards and fix the angle difference from the bumper to the hood.

The Raceon physically "fits" perfectly fine. Its just kinda flexed in the wrong ways as if it sat in the sun and slightly warped. Since its flexible though you can flex it back where it needs to fit.

Either way Id keep the rebar. Worst case its something to keep someone from pushing too hard on your bumper and bending it inwards. I've saw on other cars with OEM bumpers (2G Eclipse comes to mind) where they removed a rebar for a FMIC and the bumper bends inward really easily.

Yep the gap is slightly wider on the drivers side. The pics I posted from right above show it in its absolute worst angle. The pic in front of the bay is more like what most people see. I attached a couple more pics from more "normal" angles to show what most people see.

Above all the BEST way to get the raceon to fit well is to NOT drill the holes for mounting where there are indention's. All of my bolt holes are not centered where the spots that look marked to drill. To make it fit I put it onto the car with no holes drilled, flexed it into perfect position, held it there and eyed where the spot should be drilled. I then drilled, and then bolted it on to check. Repeat that a bunch of times... take your time, and then it fits perfectly fine. Sure its more work than the OEM bumper... but it also doesn't have that pimple that ruins the otherwise really hot girl

i just looked into the bumpers further, and i saw that raceon has their replica for $403, while Corksport has the oem bumper skin for $497. Just wondering if anyone has experience having their plate mount shaved off?

Bringing this thread back. Can anyone shed light on which raceon bumper is the 99-spec. I don't see any pics on their site of the bumpers making it hard to tell.

Does anyone know if this company still exists?? I tried to send a mail to their sales department but it came back undelivered...

I was thinking of buying above mentioned bumper. Any other company selling the same bumper or similar 99 spec bumper knockoff, or the real thing for a reasonable price...

dont know why you would want to get the bumper from raceon? they are a distributer of extreme dimensions so its the exact same thing your getting. i have bought from raceon before and they are a reputable company.

but why not just get the bumper direct from extreme dimensions considering you can negotiate the price with them. thats what I did, and have no problems with mine easy to install and other then a bit of sanding not alot of work.

Doesn't Pettit sell a version of this as well on their website? Marked up a bit like $550 or so?

I believe its FG...from ones I've seen anyway...and the fit isn't great. It'll need some massaging for sure.

I am having difficulty finding a clear answer to this possibly dumb question:

what are all the parts needed to fit on a urethane 99spec bumper (oem or not)? you have to buy not just the bumper itself but also a rebar (support beam?) correct?

The rebar is not required to fit the bumper. but it is recommended, you will need the oem mounting bracket that the stock bumper uses to bolt up to the frame.

u can still us the u.s. rebar you would just have to cut some of it to fit the turn signal lights. then you just drill out the riviets off your old bumper and fit them on the new bumper. only took me about 2-3 hours to get the fitment right with a friend.

Though some will say its not fully authentic. For what a JDM rebar costs, and considering I cant even see it unless I start taking my car apart... I choose to pass.

I welded up my own rebar... not the prettiest but it works, and cost $15 in material
