do my eyes decieve me or are the oem speakers 4.5 inches....
opened up the towers and found them to be just that...
not sure if these were hack speakers placed by the previous owner..
can anyone please confirm..pics would be ideal
have searched and most have indicated 6.5 inch as good replacements
although unless you have custom brackets..i dont see how to fit the 6.5s
as they are still somewhat undersized....any suggestions..

 

MY 87 turbo had 4 inch speakers at the rear.

 

found the adapter for 6.5 inch at crutchfield..

 

On my 90 GXL, it was 2 ~4" suspended by a metal plate. We cut the plate and replaced it with 6.5" and it works pretty well.

8" drivers will bolt right in. I wish they made 8" coaxials. There doesn't seem to be such a thing though.
