I have a 91 convert. w/airbag. I need the gauge surround. I think this is slimmer to compensate for the turn signal switch, its on the column, instead. I can't find any thing about this other than a few pics. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. 1) Is the gauge cluster slimmer or different than others? (also need) 2)Are the switches different? (need) 3) Is the ignition switch different? (need) I need parts to get this on the road, so please let me know if you have them or know where I can get them. Thank you all!

I also have a 91 vert w/air bag. The ***** are different. The **** we have for Cruise Control, is the rear wiper on hardtops. Also, yes, the turn signal is very different. I think the verts are the same "pod", but it doesnt look "too" different from a normal one. Geez, this is my 10th RX7, you'd think I'd know huh?

couldnt you go to an rx-7 parts site and see if there is a different part listed? ive seen newer verts but i dont know for sure...i think that the steering columncover may be the different part that you are thinking of.

 

I have the original column covers for my airbag rx. I also have a 88 convert and both covers and inst. suround are different.

The only difference is between the S4 cluster surround and the S5 surround

Granted there are different switchs because of the 'verts and series.

But you are saying that the 'vert with air bag has a turn signal switch on the steering column rather than on the cluster surround???

 

yep. Mine has one on the column. Also its MUCH better than the others IMO. Its more spring oriented. It feels completely different than the other kind. The only ones I've seen with these air 91 verts w/airbags. Is that the only vert like that?

Its not on any S4 or S5 'vert I have ever seen, so it must be something with the SRS versions.
