'88 vert stock stereo broken, please help

'88 vert stock stereo broken, please help
Hey everyone.
I recently bought my first RX-7 a black '88 convertible and I love it. However, I would love to be able to use the stock stereo system in it. The radio works, but my antenna is missing so it only gets a few channels (I'll fix that at some point). The tape deck and the cd player seem to work, but I never get any sound when I try to use them.
I was actually really surprised to find that the 20 year old cd player seems to function. It scans the cd, then queues it up and actually plays it (even burned cds). When I turn the cd player on I hear a little click coming from the radio/receiver like something is switching on, but I still get no sound.
If anyone has any insight on what the problem is, how to fix it and/or any shops that is capable of doing work on an ancient system like that. Thanks for the help.
