I have 2 JL-Audio dvc 6ohm sub's. Smaller subs can be tighter/cleaner sound but won't go as low a larger ones. They will sound good and you will feel them but not as much as a window flexing 12'.
You will need to match the subs with the correct power and ohm load. Dual 4ohm will make a 2ohm load and two of those will either make 1ohm or back up to 4ohm. 4ohm is cleaner but some amps are still clean at 2ohm (jl, xtant, etc.). So can your amp put out enough power for the recomended "cosntant" rms for each sub or will you have to run at 2ohm and if so, can your amp handle a 1ohm load. The only amp I know of that can is Rockfard Fosgate. I'm sure there possible are others but I don't know of them, most can't.

Yeah there brand new and my amp can put out enough power to push them i have one of the old school fosgate amps haha... but yeah ima custom make an enclosure for them to fit my fc and i found another pic of them today and the magnet is almost as big as the face of the sub haha, but two of them positioned right should beat pretty hard i think there 250 rms and 500 watts peak thats more than my 10 i have right now and the frequency is 30-500 which is the same on the low end as my 10s any one got any pics
O and rbpoweredfc how is your rms more than your peak power and what kinda 12's you getting for that cheap...

rbpoweredfc, those $69 12's must be the circuit city specials! I have a Fosgate 8" DVC that I used in my Sport Trac that rocked. It cost $145 brand new. Remember, you get what you pay for!

Thats what i was thinking cause the ones im getting for some reason are 105 a piece or 115 for two from different people, but there 135 in the crutchfield and like up to 150 in other places so those 12 must be some of those plain black loud speakers that come in house speakers lol jk jk

your best bet is to go to an audio shop and test out their 12's 10's and 8's.
It is the frequency response of the sub that matters with each respective size.
Wattages and Resistances of all strengths and specs can be had for each size.
A 8 can "pound" just as much as a 12 in terms of power, but it is the Hz that matters.
If you like really low bass, like sub 45Hz get a 12", and it "will" rattle the windows.
It all depends on your taste and the music you listen to.
ie: hip hop and reggae you need deep bass,
rock music can get away with not so deep, but you want crisp sound through
all speakers.
listen to all of them on the same song, and see what sound best with you.

I was wonderin what all you guys thought about Bazooka tubes? I saw some 8" and 10" ones on ebay which were selling for an ok deal, and it'd fit pretty well under my rear strut bar of my FD. I already have a JL12W0, but was thinking about going with something else.

I don't know.
I just find that whenever I go into the shop they try to sell everyone stuff they don't need.
In terms of just the sub, some people don't want the really deep bass for the sake of not rattling the entire car.
I personally like it deep, but with a moderate gain on the gain control, but my mids and highs must be equally as complete with the woofer.

I have two 8's in my FC. They are kickers and are in their own seperate ported boxes. They hit hard, and shake my whole freakin' car. They also sound very good. Plus, they are smaller, so they dont take up that much space, and i got them for free.

I have actually used a pair 6.75" woofers with success. Although they probably wouldn't satisfy the most demanding bassheads around, they did add all the low-end punch I was looking for.
