4x6 in the 'B' Pillar

Anyone ever put speakers where the storage bins are on the B-pillars?

It seems like I could get a 4x6 (MAYBE 5x7 with some standoffs made) in there pretty easily. I would neever cut anything there, Im sure its one of the main structural points.

the question is why? both 4x6 and 5x7 speakers are junk and good repacements for them are hard to find. a better solution would to try to fit a round 4in or 5.25in, they are easier to find and have better sound quality. remember that oval speakers are inferior to round speakers any day.

Well I don't think 5.25 components will fit without big boxes or serious modifications. I have 6.5 components in the doors, and a 10" sub. I was looking for something that would just "fill in" the sound, and be fairly light/easy to mount. Looks like it'd be a clean install location, and since they are right there at your head you won't even need a ton of power for them to do the job.

Inifinty 4x6

I can't imagine these sound horrible, especially with clean power and crossoverpoints.

I guess could just get another amp for the sub alone and bridge the front, see if that solves the dilemma.

MMMM lmore power
