2nd gen stereo/EQ in 85 GSL?

2nd gen stereo/EQ in 85 GSL?
I had the silver clarion tape deck/EQ in my 85 GSL which is missing. Can a 2nd gen black tape/EQ fit and wire up to my GSL?
I know the mounting screw holes are different and the wiring harnesses are different, but can I splice it in with the existing amps, etc..?
