2nd Gen Door Speaker Help

Hello gents,
I am currently trying to install a set of 5" speakers into the doors of my 91 rx7 with an aftermarket head unit. From what I understand there are amplifiers for the stock door speakers. So I have torn apart the doors and I cant seem to find the amps (so I can bypass them) and was wondering if someone that has done this can give me clue.

Thanks

It's probably under the dash somewhere. The FB and FD are both under the center of the dash, I'd guess the FC is too.

well if it is indeed stuffed under the dash somewhere, it sounds like a real PITA to deal with.

Yep. Best to just run new wires to all the speakers and bypass the old stuff

I guess a little old to be posting on this, but.... the amp is under the steering wheel to the left up under the dash. Yes its a royal PITA to deal with, I completely removed it. I then ran new wire from the amp I'm going to use to power the speakers. I fed the wire through and next to the black wire cover in the door jam. This took a lot of time. So far it's working out nice.
