240SX parts in an FC...

I was looking at a dash from an S14 240SX and looking at the FC interior... I think I might be able to work out a neat looking interior using some Nissan parts. LOL!

Why would you want to downgrade the interior? 240 interior looks like ****.

Wink

If it were the S13 interior I'd say hell no! but the S14 interior is decent, just a bit boring.

That being said, its all in the execution.
If you do it right, it'll be a unique car that you can be proud of; if you half-*** it, ...... small children will mock you in the streets and chant your name as an insult at recess.

Seems like a waste of time. Unless your dash was complete trash. I'm all for being original, but I would move to something a little more impressive then a 240 int.

yo S13 dashboards are awesome.. better then teh S14 in my opinion.. Its simple and smooth. I like it more then the FC dash.. not because i used to have a s13, but its sorta NSX like..

But FC's gauge cluster and console center is like a fighter plane =p
S5 interior aint bad, S4 looks alot more dated.

But if you want to do it, go for it. I wouldnt mind seeing how this turns out.

As much as I love my RX7's I like the S14's dash better, if you did it props man. Odds are if it could be done and im lazy I wont be pioneering it or spending the time/money no not gain much.

I'm all about the s5 interior, but it would be cool to see it done. Expect some work though.

sorry guys, there's something to be said for the preservation of a car from an originality standpoint. swapping in another dash takes a bit of the car's charactor away if you ask me. sure the Nissan's dashboards are clean and logical and really look nice, but lets face it, keep the FC dash and put that time and money into other areas of your car.

I see there are good and bad reactions to my idea huh. Well reason I thought of it is because I own an S14, have a spare s14 dash, and a project s4 fc's dash is all hell cracked and ugly at the moment. Won't be spending any money for the swap, just time.

BTW who put the old s14 dash into the FC chassis... looks like it just might work here...

I've got an S13, I don't mind the interior at all. The dash is a little more subdued, so I fit a little better in it (I'm 6'6"). S14 dash looks pretty nice, but I think it'd look out of place inside an older car. If you've got an extra one and the time, try it out, can't hurt.

OMFG - https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...=1#post8445270

As for the FD dash, don't even bother. I challenged someone to try it probably about a year ago & i haven't heard anything about it, btw - I have an FD dash & I know for a fact it won't fit. If you're going to mix and match parts, be creative in the end. Don't salm some piece of **** nissan part into a mazda, that's just lame. At least be original and do something custom with it.

LOL, indeed.
Cobbling the dash carcass into the FC and making it properly line up with the windscreen and door panels is the easy part.
Making all the switchgear, gauges and air ducting work will be the real test and if you don't do that the project is fail.
