1st Gen Stereo - 6x9's

I'm looking to upgrade the factory speakers to a pair of 6x9's. I would like to stay away from cutting metal (or at least minorly), or riding with a box in the rear hatch. Anyone have any suggestions (like mounting them below the rear hatch latch, though it doesn't seperate sound well...)? Or does anyone have suggestions for a good pair of 5 1/4"s with good bass response (I used Boston Acoustics in my last RX, with good results)? I'm looking to use around 100W.

I'm an old man now (36), and am not up on what's considered quality speakers...

Thanks!

I cut in 6x9's into the stock location last summer. They went in nice, you just have to oval out the round hole, and then cut the plastic overlay. Its not that hard to cut em in. Since you dont want to cut, I've heard of people making boxes to fit the storage bins, but never seen one. They would fit right in there, but I'm not sure of the sound quality though. That would solve the problem of a box rattling around in your trunk.

Get a jig saw and gut an oval hole in the storage bin lid....I did that it works and you can still get pretty good sound even tho theyre behind the seats
