1st GEN audio problem

so, i have a 82 rx-7.. the original "deck" is gone, bought it like that, and was thinking of replacing it with an aftermarket deck.. if that's what you would call it.. one problem, no wire harness, SO, i was told that i would need to hardwire it, is there any way i could do it more simply? would i be able to use a wire harness from a different model or even make of car? if so, what can i do? any ideas? thanks..

oh, and putting a boombox in the car doesnt count as an idea.. already thought of it

Hardwiring the harness that comes with the aftermarket deck to the existing wires is easy. Get yourself a wiring diagram for the stock system and just match the wires up. Use butt connectors and voila.
