mazda didn't screw up....all the jdm fd's came with 180 kph speedos and i believe they are speed limited to that amount...somebody correct me if i am wrong.

 

not exactly correct, A member here on the forum went well into 190 mph, Crazy Daine. There is only a boost cut not a speed cut.

well yeah, when you start modifying it and change everything, you're going to eliminate the speed limiter as well. i'm pretty sure it had one in japan.

 

If the Speedo were not recalibrated in some way, and it REALLY reads 180 km/h as the "top speed," CrazyDane's speedo would have shown something around 60 km/h if he were going 190 mph. I guess I could be wrong, but I seriously doubt the speedo and/or car is limited to 112 mph.

 

I wish it was a little more blue & a little less montego

It still bugs me when ppl describe it as green/forest green/dark green, esp those who are owners trying to sell their car on the autotrader or whatnot.
They should know better!

I think all of the speedo's in Japan stop at 180k/h. And I think they are all governed at a certain k/h but of course can be fix with a little chip removal or something like that. The new Integra Type-R also stops at 180k/h. The US RSX Type-S stops at 160mph.

they forget to mention that he has an aftermarket speedo, i think its the mazdaspeed where it ends at 300 or 320kph..so we can end this confusion now LOL

Damn, LOVE that interior (It's so simple).
