[Audio] Components with Stock Colored Lighting?

My Bose system works well for me, but both the CD player and the tuner are starting to flake out.

So I started looking out for components that would look OK. This means something defferent to each of us - I started to look for components with fairly decent sized buttons and predominently stock colored lighting.

But everything I have seen in catalogs like Crutchfield has 20 different colored lights on it, and ususally an array of tiny little buttons.

The one component that I've found that would look great is the Empeg Car (5 buttons and amber lighting) - but I would need (or at least would like) a good head unit to go with it.

Any Ideas? I want decent sound (I think the Bose is decent, if that gives you an idea *ducks*). If there aren't products that have amber lighting, are there services/shops that can change the colors?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

In case the references to Bose didn't do it - I have an FD. - Also I know the Empeg Car isn't being made anymore - but Rio (bastards that bought Empeg then killed the product) was still selling off their extra stock last I checked.

thks

The majority of the better brands of aftermarket car stereos have dual or multiple display colors.

But you will not find them generally on the sub-$300 decks.

Alpine, Kenmore (whoops meant Kenwood), Sony, Denon, etc all have decks that the lights can be changed from green to orange, some to red, or Honda Blue.

Some of the Alpine decks also can be set to turn off the internal radio display/lights after 10 seconds unless you touch them, which is great for less distraction while driving. I don't know if other brands have that feature.

Changing fixed colors in a radio is generally not cost effective.

I went with a RockFord Fosgate....I belive it's model # 8230 and it can switch between amber and green. But my Profec B is green, so it seems i can't win.
