We do that to ensure new members are legit. Not here to spam and scam other members.
have you read the increase your post count thread? In doing that you can in crease you post count by a few.

It does seem a little excessive, though I can imagine the experience would be heavily degraded by spammers if you are not careful. THinking you could charge a buck or somthing to get past the limit though...

It may be a little annoying at first, but i think it is way better than having to sift through spammer posts to get to real ones.

I don't see it as a big deal. I'm working my way up to 10 posts. This is number 8 I think. I can see why the mods would have this rule.

Cheers!

I'm actually confused by what you mean.

"why is it that there must be so many posts before i can post?"

you mean post an ad?

It might be annoying but it is completely understandable, I'd rather have my info kept confidential and get a few post counts before being able to post.

It's a double edged sword really. For one yes it does cut back on a lot of spammers and crooks trying to make an easy buck but for people first starting it can be annoying to get those few posts in to unlock most of the site. I've learned to cope with it but the one thing that still bugs the crap outta me is the whole 15 mins to edit a post timer.

Me I don't understand it , however I will abide by the rules just like everyone else. I don't see where it hurts anyway. Seems to me that as you go along reading what others have posted about it becomes easy.

I think you should at least be able to view the classifieds. I understand not being able to post in them or reply...

Just wondering why read them if you can't participate seems you'd be teasing yourself.
