Haltech Wire Harness Connector Reassembly?
#2
Ok well my white locking clip came out with the pins when I took the connector apart. I figured the clip needed to be in place on the pins before inserting it into the body of the connector. That is wrong though. The locking clip is put into the pin body and then is pushed up or down depending on which one locks the pins. In the unlocked pin position insert the pins and seal. You main need a thin wire pushed into the body holes to help the pins align with their holes for the white locking clip and body. Then snap the connector together. The lock clip and seal can then be clipped to the main body of the connector.

Hey Fritts, you actually dont have to take the connector appart on E8/E11 to pull or push pins in and out of it. Just press the large white guide down, and the 2 small ones on the other side will pop out about 1/16 of an inch, and you can just pull each wire out, and after inserting it you just push down on the 2 small ones.
PRESS
PULL
CRIMP
INSERT
PRESS
These steps are for adding pins to a location where there werent any, like on a PnP or adding the Aux. Out 2 on an E8 harness which isnt on there from the factory. But the principal is the same, there's no need to take the entire connector apart, the wires just slip in and out by just pressing on the white guides.
Hope that helps.

I remember the first time I did that. It took me like two days to figure it out and that's after I destroyed the plug!
Seriously I don't think I even remember how to pull the entire plug apart. I have a couple of new ones sitting around. When I'm bored I'll play with them.
