Unknown wire in Home/Trigger shielding

Sorry for another noob question. Upon stripping the shielding off the home/trigger, I noticed there is a naked wire in both circuits. Looking at the diagram, signal ground runs into both shielding but I thought the blue wire was for signal ground. What is this wire for? ECU is elite 1500 with the premium harness. Again sorry for the noob question and thanks in advance.

That’s the shield conductor. Insulate it on the CAS end so it doesn’t touch anything and forget it exists.
