road speed value?

i recently bought an e6x. in main setup there is a setting for road speed value. also there is a loom for the road speed sensor. it has three wires; 12v supply, senor, and sensor ground. anyone familiar with this and is it required or optional?

You can run a Hall Effect type sensor to this input.  Cars with ABS systems have this for each wheel (typically).  To get the proper reading, you just need to play around with the road speed variable in the Haltech.

This needs to be hooked up if you want to see the vehicle speed read-out or use any of the vehicle speed dependent functions (i.e. boost control).

It is not necessary to be used for the Haltech to control main functions.
